Kent Police Male Voice Choir

Stewart Biggs BSc (hons). CEng. MICE.

This page was updated in February 2017

Stewart joined the choir in January 2008, having been introduced by one of our baritones, Paul Cox, sadly now no longer with us.

He has previous musical and singing experience with various choirs and trained as an organist between 1971 and 1975. He has sung with church choirs on and off over the years. He also plays keyboards (organ and piano) and has dabbled with the guitar, banjo and clarinet.

Stewart lives in Maidstone and is married to Sally. He has two daughters, one is a solicitor and the other a teacher.

He started his working life in civil engineering and worked first for Kent County Council and then for an international construction company, travelling in the United Kingdom and overseas. He was called into the ordained ministry of the Church of England in 1998, moved on to Kent County Council as a public rights of way officer and then to Jacobs Engineering Group where he regained his Chartered Civil Engineer status. He most recently worked for Berryrange Ltd, a sheet piling contractor based in Medway, as their Design Manager. He is currently the South East Regional Chairman for the Institution of Civil Engineers.

In June 2016, he was appointed as Honorary Secretary to the Choir and at the same time both he and Sally retired from "paid" employment. Stewart is resident organist at St Michael and All Angels Church Offham and is especially interested in property development, DIY, walking and music of course.

We're glad to have your expertise in the bass section of the choir Stewart. Thank you.
