Kent Police Male Voice Choir

"Jeff" Jefferies

This page was first published in September 2001

Following a few years as a baritone Jeff now sings in the bass section of the choir . He became a member when he realised a long-term ambition to sing in a male choir after his wife Margaret contacted our then secretary.

Jeff lives in Maidstone and is now retired. On leaving school his original wishes to join the RAF and then the police service were thwarted due to an eyesight defect so he went to work in the insurance industry and has done so ever since. He retired in December 2002.

He has always held a keen interest in sport - mainly soccer, cricket and rugby - and played soccer for a local team for many years. For a time he was a qualified soccer referee. He has taken up golf in the last two years and still likes to spend time watching other sport. His other interests include wood-turning, photography and computing. He is also keen on aircraft and often accompanies a friend on light aeroplane flights

Jeff has kept retriever dogs for many years and exercising his current dog helps keep him fit. He is the proud grandfather of three grandsons who also keep him on his toes.

Since he joined Jeff has been an ever-present member both at rehearsals and concerts and his wife is always among our audience. We are glad of such stalwart support Jeff.
