Bob sings in the baritone section and has been a member of the choir since 2006. His experience as a chorister goes back to his boyhood, when he sang in St Mildred's, Tenterden, church choir. In those days he was given free private singing lessons by a lady member of the congregation. He has sung several times with choirs in Canterbury Cathedral and also in Sydney Opera House. He is also a member of the Tenterden Singers.
In his working career he has been a plumber (hence his nickname 'B day') and spent eight years in the Royal Navy. He joined Kent Police in 1976 and retired in 2000 becoming a chauffeur and gardener. He is now a self employed gardener.
Bob and his wife have a son, a daughter and two grandaughters.
In addition to singing, Bob's interests have included football refereeing, short mat bowls and he is a keen Kent cricket spectator.
